Our Beginning
In 2014, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Gus Roman, Dr. Lillie Coley, Mr. Walter “Buck” Buckley and Pastor Tony Pritchett were
tasked to coordinate people in prayer around the city of Philadelphia in commemoration of Pentecost Sunday. This prayer meeting was the beginning of a movement in prayer that, to this day, impacts lives.
God continued to bless our focus on prayer for the city of Philadelphia. In 2014, the network moved to
streaming online via Twitter/Periscope, then Facebook in 2017. Also, in 2017, the network decided to shift from the city to the nation. By this time, God had already given us the streaming vision to use technology to pray for our country even before the pandemic began in 2019. We engaged with audiences of all ages, ethnicities, and Christian denominations. Our efforts were so successful, reaching over 1 million people
weekly, that the leadership felt God’s call to expand our efforts in prayer to cover the earth.
In January 2022, the Nation Wide Prayer Network expanded to the Global Wide Prayer Network as a pilot project. God expanded our territory through the vision of Walter “Buck” Buckley, but more help was needed. Today, we are in the passionate pursuit of intercessors around the world to partner with us as we obey God’s call to pray with the use of technology 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, in every country, on every continent of the world.
